About The JHSS P & C's Prep Committee
GENERAL
We have just had some great parent input and are all set to create this committee in 2009!! So read on, and contact us if you are interested in helping out.
Prep at Jamboree Heights State School is the perfect stepping stone to Grade 1. With dedicated teachers, specially prepared facilities, and a learning curriculum based on investigation, curiosity and "play", its the best place to start your child's formal education. A small group of enthusiastic parents have come on board to give their children better educational experience and broader extra-curricular choices. But of course their efforts will benefit your children as well, so why not lend a hand?
You might be new to the whole school thing, or you might have older/younger children that just make you think "I dont have the time!". But the rest of us aren't just twiddling our thumbs either! The majority of all commitee members have 2 or more children and 3 out the past and present 4 P & C Executives also have babies!
So slide gently into P & C now, making it a habit vital for your child's education, and join a happy and friendly committee dedicated to issues that directly effect you and your Prep children!
FUNDRAISING
While only just having formed in Term 4 of 2008, the Prep Committee are already on the job! They organised a Christmas Raffle to start raising funds to transform the Prep play area into a play area! The harsh QLD weather has ruined any grass that was trying to grow, and with water restrictions and so much traffic, it is being proposed to put down "astro turf" to give the children a fun and long lasting surface to play on.
The latest project to be completed around the Prep area, is the cubby house, play ground and new gardens, and it looks great!
