ART SHOW

GENERAL
The JHSS Art Show was part of a series of art events held by The Centenary Learning Alliance of State Schools (CLASS) in October 2008 in a week long celebration of art in our local schools. This week included hands on experiences for all students, and many displays for parents to view.

The JHSS Art Show was held on a Wednesday and was a "wine and cheese" evening. There were displays and presentations topped off by an Arts Tour of the school. The students and teachers have worked very hard on completing their Visual Installment Art, and every year level has contributed to the project. Not only is this a great experience for the students and allows the school the opportunity to co-operate with other local schools, but the art pieces have really enhanced the aesthetics and atmosphere of the school grounds.

In addition to our own Art Show and the other schools' displays, as a culmination to this fabulous week of activities there was also an ARTS Festival Day held at Centenary State High School. The Festival Day was held on a Saturday from 2pm to 6pm with a combined schools concert from 6pm to 8pm.

On this day we had members of our CLASS school communities who were able to sing, dance, paint, draw or some other artistic pursuit and performed, taught and held a demonstration of their skill.
