About Jamboree Heights State School

GENERAL
Jamboree Heights State School is located in the Centenary Suburbs of Brisbane. The school has an enrolment of approximately 700 students from Prep to Year 7, who come from about 450 families. The enrolment of the school has remained stable over the past several years and it is anticipated to continue at that rate for the near future. The instance of non-Ausralian family heritage of students however, has increased, and this brings added diversity to the culture of the school.

Education is highly valued by the culturally diverse community, with dedicated teachers and parents working together to achieve the school’s educational objectives. This is supported by an E.S.L. teacher and a bilingual teacher aide.

The school has a reputation for educational achievement in a caring environment. It is held in high regard by the community and has been the focus of innovative change in the areas of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, and School Management.

The school offers curriculum focusing upon Numeracy, Literacy, Learning Technology and Language Other Than English (LOTE). Extra curricular programmes provide students with experience in a range of activities which help to build a positive self-esteem.

Visually impaired students enrolled at Jamboree Heights State School and throughout the Metropolitan West Region are supported by a full-time Teacher-in-Charge and staff who work from a Unit based on the campus.

To find out more about the program, please visit the You Can Do It website, or contact the school administration.

SCHOOL PLEDGE
The school pledge was designed to encourage students to develop school pride, and to respect the environment, societal values, and fellow human beings. It is expressed in simple language, easily understood by all students from Years Prep to 7.

It says:

We, the children of Jamboree Heights State School wear our uniforms with pride. We promise:
- to take care of the school environment;
- to uphold the school rules; and
- to take care of our fellow students.
